Turbochargers and parts
A turbocharger is a precision and complex system designed to use the energy of exhaust gases to compress more air into the engine cylinders, thereby increasing engine power and efficiency.
1. Three Core Components:
Turbine: Driven by exhaust gas, it is the power source.
Compressor: Coaxial with the turbine, responsible for compressing air.
Intercooler: Contains bearings and seals, supports the high-speed rotating main shaft, and provides lubrication and cooling.
2. Key Systems and Components:
Pressure Relief Valve: A protective device that prevents high-pressure air from damaging the compressor during oil decompression.
Intercooler: Cools the compressed, high-temperature air, increasing air density and improving efficiency and power.
Lubrication System: Lubricates and cools the high-speed, high-temperature bearings; it is the turbine’s “lifeline.”
3. Advanced Technologies:
Variable Geometry Turbine: Optimizes performance at different speeds by changing the blade angle, significantly reducing “turbine lag.”
Electronic Actuator: Provides more precise and faster boost control.
